VENICE – Since the Ride the Dreamland project landed in the world of professional cycling in 2021, the splendid roads of the Veneto Region have increasingly established themselves as the ideal setting for the end of the competitive season. A show “in the land of dreams” that will be repeated in 2023, from 11 to 15 October, with some of the best international riders who will compete on the roads of Giro del Veneto (11 October), Serenissima Gravel (13 October) and Veneto Classic (15 October), while the Social Ride VENEtoGO (14 October) will be reserved for all those who interpret cycling only as the best form of entertainment possible.

In the Oriana Fallaci room of Palazzo Ferro-Fini in Venice, seat of the Regional Council of Veneto, the curtain was raised on the third chapter of Ride the Dreamland, organized by PP Sport Events with the fundamental support of the Veneto Region. Many people came to accompany the first official act of the 2023 edition, the President of the Regional Council of Veneto, Roberto Ciambetti, the Sports Councilor of the Municipality of Cittadella, Diego Galli, the former Deputy Roger De Menech for the province of Belluno, the Regional Councilor of Borgo Valbelluna, Pier Luigi Bassanello, the Mayor of Colceresa, Enrico Costa, and Andrea Viero, Councilor for Urban Planning of the Municipality of Bassano del Grappa. Moderating the presentation was a former rider and appreciated voice of Rai Sport, Giada Borgato.

“The cycling season, in the collective imagination, now ends with the PP Sport Events races – said Roberto Ciambetti -. I have heard several riders say it, which confirms the good work done by the organizers. This week is now a regular event, on which there is more and more attention. From the history of the Giro del Veneto, to the launch of the Serenissima Gravel and the great novelty of the Veneto Classic, the Veneto Region has believed in Pozzato and his team's project from the very first minute. And after 3 years we continue to believe that this is a splendid way to enhance our territory”.

“During the pandemic period we made a bet with Pozzato and after 3 years I can say that it was largely won – said Diego Galli -. We had trusted him for the 2020 Italian Championship and we continue to do so today with this year's Serenissima Gravel. I believe that great respect is owed to those who try to enhance our territory, even more so through a beautiful and healthy discipline like cycling. On Cittadella's behalf, PP Sport Events will always find its doors open”.

“For the province of Belluno it is a very significant period, given that these days we remember the Vajont tragedy – continues Roger De Menech -. The bicycle, however, is always at the center of our thoughts, as confirmed by the many sections of cycle path built and the exaltation of the territory thanks to cycling events. However, we wanted a more widespread participation over the time frame and the Veneto Classic seemed perfect to us, also for the innovative and young way of interpreting cycling. The province of Belluno has the splendid setting of the Dolomites, of course, but also fantastic villages like Mel, which will host the start of the Veneto Classic”.

“In the Ride the Dreamland project we arrive last, but I can assure you that we have a great tradition in the world of cycling – adds Pier Luigi Bassanello, Councilor of the Municipality of Borgo Valbelluna, which also includes Mel -. In such an important event it is a debut for us, but we will do everything to live up to it and best showcase our fantastic territory”.

“With the Veneto Classic we have the opportunity not only to show the beauty of our historic center, but also of everything that surrounds it – said Andrea Viero -. What amazed me about this organization was its ability to network with the various administrations but also with volunteer associations, creating a great bond aimed at achieving the same goal. As far as I'm concerned, the only thing I can say is that we are waiting for everyone in Bassano del Grappa, for what promises to be a great party".

"We are a small town, but active and lively, with a well-established social fabric - explains Enrico Costa, Mayor of Colceresa, who will provide more than 70 volunteers -. We are very happy that this year too the La Tisa wall will be decisive for the fate of the Veneto Classic. We included it in the path of the Italian Championship in 2020, and now it has become a point of reference for enthusiasts”.

“Crédit Agricole has historically been linked to the world of cycling, especially in France, where the Bank has associated its brand with numerous races,” said Roberto Zilio, sales manager of the Veneto Regional Directorate of Crédit Agricole Italia. “With the sponsorship of the Cycling Classics organized by RCS at a national level and of the “Ride the Dreamland” circuit organized by PP Sport Events in Veneto, Crédit Agricole Italia aims to build a link with this sport in Italy too, thanks to its ability to delve into the territories and enhance them.”
